Most couples book 60 to 90 minutes, which is enough for two or three spots and a real variety of relaxed frames. In Vienna that might be the Burggarten, the Michaelerplatz arches and a quiet stretch of the Danube Canal; in Hallstatt your photographer will walk you through the village and along the shore before the first coach parties arrive around ten. Two-hour sessions suit anyone who wants to move between a town and the landscape around it — Salzburg's old town plus a lake, say. Coordinate, do not match. Muted solid colours — cream, forest green, rust, deep blue — sit beautifully against Vienna's pale stone, the green of a Tyrolean meadow and the turquoise of an Austrian lake. Skip loud patterns and big logos. Footwear matters more here than in most countries: Hallstatt and Salzburg are all cobbles and steps, and any mountain spot means an uneven path. In winter, dress for real cold and bring the coat you actually like being seen in, because it will be in every frame; add gloves and a hat you can take off for a few shots. Golden hour, as everywhere — but in Austria the clock moves a lot. Sunset in Vienna falls around 16:00 in December and just after 21:00 at midsummer, so a December session runs in the late afternoon and a June one runs almost at bedtime. Sunrise is the underrated slot: Hallstatt, Salzburg's Getreidegasse and the Belvedere gardens are effectively yours before nine. In the mountains, remember that the sun leaves a valley long before it sets — Bad Gastein and the Zillertal go into shadow early, which your photographer will plan around. Winter light stays soft all day, so midday works far better in January than it does in July.

Professional photoshoots in Seefeld start from €310. Packages differ in length and in the number of edited photos — an hour at the Seekirchl and the Wildsee, which are five minutes apart, or two hours that add the Rosshütte funicular or the Leutasch valley. Most couples book 60 to 90 minutes; anything involving the cable car or the Geisterklamm needs the longer option.

The Seekirchl, the onion-domed chapel standing alone on its meadow at the edge of the village, is the frame everyone comes for. The Wildsee a few minutes away gives still water and reed beds, the Rosshütte funicular opens the Wetterstein and the Hohe Munde in ten minutes, and west of the plateau the Leutasch valley and its Geisterklamm gorge are quieter. The Möserer See goes glassy late in the day.

Early morning is best at the Wildsee and the Möserer See, when both go mirror-still and the plateau is empty. The Seekirchl faces roughly south-west, so it takes late-afternoon light well. Meadows are at their fullest from June to early August; September brings clear air and the cattle down from the high pastures; and from December to March the plateau is groomed cross-country track with the Hohe Munde white above it.
