Once you book, you and your photographer agree everything privately by chat: the exact spot, the time, what you will both be wearing, and a small signal for the moment before you kneel. On the day the photographer arrives early and behaves like any other visitor photographing the view, while actually tracking you. The proposal itself is shot from a distance with a long lens, and only afterwards does the photographer step forward and continue with a short celebratory session — the ring, the phone calls home, the toast. Your photographer scouts the spot beforehand, chooses a natural place to stand, and avoids eye contact with you until the ring is out. If you are especially worried, pick a busier viewpoint rather than an empty one — a lone photographer on a deserted jetty is more noticeable than one in a crowd — or ask for a longer lens and more distance. Both are normal requests and your photographer will advise honestly on which suits the location you have chosen.
